Planning your wedding during the holidays

Planning your wedding during the holidays can be stressful. You may be wondering what in the world you did setting the date for spring. All the last minute details seem to be happening during the busiest time of the year. Don’t worry we can help you with tips for planning a wedding during the holidays.

Don’t Stress

Easy to say, but not so easy to do. Wedding planning can be stressful even for the most even keel person. Not only do you have to deal with your own anxiety and desires but relatives and family members can also add to the wedding drama. You will find planning a wedding during the holidays will be easier if you take time to take care of yourself and de-stress when you need to. Stop often to relax and enjoy your family and friends. If the wedding is causing relationship issues, try to take a few steps back from the wedding planning and enjoy the holiday season.

Enjoy the holidays

Try to take time to enjoy the holiday season just like you would during any other year. You may have a deadline to be aware of. If the wedding is soon and you haven’t had much time to prepare, then you may need to manage your time better. Say “no” to holiday parties and obligations that you really don’t think you’ll enjoy. Say “yes” to those things that you really want to do. Take time to listen to what you want and need. Be kind to yourself. Drop the notion that your wedding has to be perfect. Instead make sure it is the wedding you want with wedding plans that are unique and fit you and your fiancé.

Get Advice you need

If you are planning a wedding, don’t forget that many people have been through this process before you. Ask your event planner for help and get advice on what works and what doesn’t from your family and friends. Often when you begin planning your wedding you can get overwhelmed with all the advice of your friends and family who want to tell you what they did. Once that dies down, you can begin thinking clearly and asking for the advice you want or need. An event planner like the one at Advantage Tent and Party Supplies can help you determine what wedding supplies you need and other logistics that will make your day go smoother.

Delegate, delegate, delegate

Do what you can early in the season before the last minute to avoid holiday rush and being left with too much to do at the last minute. This is good advice for the holidays and also planning your wedding. Don’t forget you have many people who are willing to help. Delegate as many of the tasks as you can. Avoid delegating important tasks to people you don’t know well enough to know if they will get the job done. You might find some tasks aren’t as important as others. Delegate the unimportant items to people on your list who may not follow through and then be gracious if they don’t.

Planning your wedding during the Holidays

Planning a wedding can take a lot of time and energy. If you are planning your wedding during the holidays, you may not have as much time and energy as you may need. Realize this might be a problem and be prepared to handle what comes. Give yourself time to do what you need to do and plan to enjoy the season! If you have questions about planning your wedding, tent rentals or wedding and party supplies, call Elite Events and Rentals and we’ll be happy to help.
