Baby Shower Checklist: What You Should Rent

What You Should Rent for a Baby Shower

Baby showers are an absolutely fantastic way to celebrate an impending birth with family, friends, and co-workers. You can get to hang out, open gifts, chow down on tasty food, and enjoy each other’s company. What isn’t there to love?

The trick to pulling off a wonderful party is to plan a great baby shower checklist so you don’t forget anything. Today, we’re going to look at some rentable items that you should add to this checklist along with a few other essentials:

You can start creating your baby shower checklist by figuring out which items you should rent for the party. Not only is this more convenient but you’ll save money that can be used for other things.

There are many different items to choose from and here are a few of our favorites:

Tents/Tent Accessories

A great choice is to hold your baby shower somewhere outside. If you decide to go this route, you should make it a tented event which will help shield your guests from the Florida sun and create a sense of privacy for everyone. You can also add on a few tent accessories such as fans, sidewalls, or air conditioners.

Tables/Chairs

Instead of trying to get friends to cobble together the tables and chairs that you’ll need for the event, you should consider renting them. A rental company will deliver them to the location of the baby shower and get everything set up for you. You’ll also be able to match up styles, colors, etc.

Dinnerware/Tableware

If you’re already going to rent tables and chairs, then you should go ahead and rent dinnerware and tableware as well. A party rental company will have plenty of different types of plates, glasses, silverware, etc. to choose from. They’ll also stock plenty of varieties of these items that will go perfectly with the overall décor.

Catering Equipment

Many people prefer to save money on a caterer and do the catering themselves. You can make everything a bit easier by renting some catering equipment so you’ll have all the tools you’ll need. This can include anything from serving trays and ladles to chafing dishes and beverage dispensers.

Photo Booth

There’s no doubt that everyone will be taking plenty of pictures throughout the baby shower in order to commemorate the event. You can make it even more enjoyable by renting a photo booth. These booths often come with props and will provide the perfect memento for everyone who attends the party.

Fancy Venue

Since a baby shower is such a fun event, why not have it at some kind of fancy venue like a ballroom or restaurant? You can even rent out an entire room in your favorite eatery and be waited on hand and foot. Many places have a secluded area where you and your friends can get some privacy, though keep in mind that they probably have volume limits to the excited group (so, try not to scream too much).

Other Things to Remember for a Baby Shower

By renting some of the items listed above, your baby shower is certain to go off without a hitch. Just don’t forget that your baby shower checklist doesn’t only include items you should rent for the party. Here are a few other things that you’ll need to put on the list:

Invitations

You should always send out your baby shower invitations at least a few weeks in advance of the event. Once you’ve figured out a guest list, the easiest way to kick things off is to send digital invitations through email or social media. Just keep in mind that not everyone uses these things on a regular basis, so be sure to follow up.

Party Décor

There really isn’t any such thing as going too far when it comes to a baby shower. Make sure that you pick up plenty of decorations such as balloons, lettering, flowers, streamers, banners, party favors, and whatever else your heart desires. If you decide to go with a specific theme, visit a local party supply store to pick up everything you need.

Fun Games

One of the best things about a baby shower is the number of games that you and your guests can play. If you need any ideas, check out this long list of baby shower games that are perfect for adults and even any teens that might attend. You should also set up some small game prizes for the winners and everyone else who participates.
