6 Misconceptions about Rental Items for Events

You may have some questions about renting items for events and parties. Let’s clear up a few of those questions!

Millions of people across the United States rent items for personal and professional events every day, but there are certain myths that continue to crop up from time to time. Since we’re in “the biz,” we’ve decided to take it upon ourselves to discuss some of the common misconceptions about rental items for events.

 

Rental Items Are Too Expensive

Many people seem to be under the false impression that rental items are close enough in price to the purchase amount that you might as well buy them. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Rental costs are only a fraction of what you’d spend if you purchased them. Depending on the size of your event and the types of items, renting could mean savings of hundreds or thousands of dollars.

 

Only specialized items can be rented.

Many people seem to think of specialty items such as concessions and bounce houses when it comes to renting. It’s actually a little funny to see someone’s reaction when they first walk into one of our facilities and realize that basic items like tables and chairs are available. The truth is that you can rent not just tables and chairs, but also tentstent accessories, catering equipment, dinnerware and flatware, and a variety of other things.

 

Items Are Worn Out or Damaged

Rental items for events can sometimes get a lot of use, of course, but this doesn’t mean that you should expect them to be worn out or damaged when you pick them up or have them delivered. A reputable rental company will make sure that every item stays in very good shape so that it looks and works great for the next event. Each piece of equipment is checked between rentals to see if anything needs to be repaired or replaced.

 

Designs and styles are limited.

If you’ve never been to a rental facility before, you probably think that any tables or chairs they have will only come in one or two colors or styles. In reality, reputable rental companies keep a wide variety of styles and designs on hand to make sure you can find something that fits your event. This also means that you’ll be able to match your tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, flatware, etc.

 

You will not receive any assistance.

We have no idea where the “no support” myth came from, but it’s certainly not true. In fact, a good rental company will support you in any way possible.

 

They’ll deliver the items, get everything set up, and then return to pick them up once the event has concluded. They’ll also show you how to use items such as concessions and bounce houses. Workers will even be available for assistance during business hours.

 

Long-term rentals are required.

This is another misconception that often comes up. Despite what you may have heard, you don’t have to rent any items for a long period of time.

 

Many events are a single-day affair, and that’s perfectly fine. But if you have some type of event or celebration that will stretch out over a week or even a month or longer, that can be arranged as well. Just be sure to order a bit in advance to make sure they’re not spoken for by someone else.
