Are Tents Necessary for Outdoor Events in the Spring?

Questions to Ask About Your Tent Rental

Spring is a wonderful time to plan an outdoor event. The question that many people wonder is whether or not a tent is necessary since the weather is relatively nice during this time of year.

The truth is that outdoor event tents are beneficial no matter what time of year it is. But you do need to ask yourself a few important questions before making a final decision:

How Many Event Attendees Will There Be?

The first thing you’ll want to ask yourself is how many people will be attending your event. Tents come in a variety of sizes. They start as small as 10 feet by 10 feet and go all the way up to 82 feet by 131 feet and even larger. If you need help calculating what size tent you’ll need to accommodate everyone that you’re planning to invite and other equipment you want to rent, such as dance floors, catering equipment, tables, and chairs, a party rental company can help.

What Will the Weather Be Like?

The next thing you need to figure out is what the weather report is going to look like. This can sometimes be a little difficult, even during the spring months, but you should be able to get a general idea.

If you think there may be some inclement weather, then you may want to rent some tent accessories like sidewalls or either cooling or heating equipment to protect guests and keep them comfortable. But no matter what the weather will be, a tent is still the best idea for an outdoor event.

What Types of Tents Do You Need?

There are a few different types of tents, including frame tents, pole tents, and structure tents. They all serve a similar function, of course, but there are some differences. For example, frame tents don’t require stakes, whereas pole tents do.

Structure tents can be staked, anchored into concrete, or built with concrete blocks. Some can also be equipped with sidewalls and doors.

Do Your Guests Need Some Privacy?

You need to decide how much privacy your guest will require. Certain types of tents don’t provide a lot of privacy. Many types of frame tents, for instance, are wide open. If your guests want any privacy, then you’ll need to rent sidewalls to go along with the tent.

In some situations, you might also want to hire security to watch who comes in and out of the tent to prevent party crashers and the like.

Will You Need Any Tent Accessories?

In addition to the tent itself, there are several different types of accessories available. In addition to the aforementioned sidewalls and doors, heating and cooling equipment includes propane heaters, clip-on fans, pedestal fans, cool boxes, and huge portable fans. There are also concrete blocks, banner poles, tent liners, and more.

Who Will Handle Setup and Takedown?

Lastly, you need to ask yourself who will be handling setup and takedown. The best plan of action is to rent your tent, because no one wants to purchase one and then store it somewhere. Since you’re renting, you’ll have the benefit of the rental company setting it up and taking it down for you. Of course, if you’d prefer to have your own crew take care of this or assist, that’s your prerogative.
