Planning a a Halloween party is a lot of fun because there are so many different decorations and ways to show guests a good time. To help you get started, we’ve put together some easy-to-follow tips that will make your party a frightfully great success.
Design a Haunted Tent
If you don’t have your own facility to create a haunted house, tent rentals are your best option. Tents come in all shapes and sizes, so you can use one to create a small haunted house in your backyard or a much more lavish one if you have access to a large, open space. You can also choose tent accessories such as sidewalls to create privacy and heaters or fans to keep everyone comfortable.
Stock Up on Decorations
Planning a Halloween party is an ongoing process when it comes to decorations because there are so many to choose from and you might find yourself making impulse buys every time you go to the store. Halloween decorations include everything from bats and ghosts to witches and spiderwebs. One of our personal favorites is to pick up a plastic cauldron and use dry ice to create the effect of a witch’s brew.

You can’t have a Halloween celebration without some tunes. There are plenty to choose from, but our personal favorites include the three – yes there are three – songs in the Monster Mash series by Bobby Boris Pickett. It’s also really cool to have creepy Halloween sounds, especially if you’ve designed a haunted house. You might also want to rent a dance floor for people to mimic Michael Jackson’s Thriller or other popular songs.
Choose a Specific Theme
In a lot of ways, planning a Halloween party has certain elements that are pretty much set in stone, such as wearing costumes, but feel free to switch things up a bit. If you’d like to have a specific theme, such as costumes from movies or cartoons, then make that a part of the event. Just make sure that it’s a suggestion and not a requirement.
Rent a Bounce House
If you’re having a Halloween party that will include children, then you should consider renting a bounce house. They come in different designs and they’re all perfect for the holiday. This is a wonderful way for kids to burn off a little of that candy and energy that they’ve collected throughout the day.
Halloween Food and Drinks
The types of food and drinks you get for a Halloween celebration will depend on exactly what type of party you’re throwing. At the very least, you’ll want to pick up some snacks, such as cupcakes shaped like ghosts and other types of creatures. If you’re having an actual meal, then you may also want to rent some catering equipment, in addition to tables and chairs for everyone.
Rent Some Concessions
Another thing you can rent that guests of all ages will love is concessions. Even though there will already be candy at the party (at least, there better be!), you may want to rent stands for cotton candy, snow cones, or ice cream. However, the best kind of snack for Halloween that will compliment candy very well is popcorn. You can’t go wrong with this tasty treat.
